Go Play

When was the last time you played? If you’re a parent, you probably play with your kids, and that’s GREAT, but it’s not the same as playing for YOU. This weekend I had SO MUCH FUN! We were at my parents house for Labor Day with some family. There were no kids there that day, so it was just the adults chilling and enjoying the weather. Then my mom suggested we get out my dad’s paddle board and try it in the pool.

Y’all it was FUN! I tried to balance and paddle and make turns in a small space. Then I decided it would be fun to try some yoga on it, and I fell so many times trying to get a tree pose. I loved watching my family play too. At first some hesitation, but as they decided to try it, they had a lot of fun too. We laughed a lot and really really enjoyed time together just PLAYING.

I left that day feeling SO GOOD and refreshed! I can totally feel my body today too from all the fun things I tried on that paddle board. What a great reminder that movement doesn’t have to be rigid or militant, or something we dread doing. Movement can be casual, spontaneous and FUN.

You don’t need a planned workout that you track on your watch for it to “count.” ALL movement counts! If you want some endorphins, some happy hormones, I encourage you to PLAY! Do something silly or fun this week and then let me know how you feel. I bet you’re already smiling just thinking of what you want to try. :)
