What 2019 Showed Me

Every year I like to choose just one word to be my theme. It’s something  that helps me come back to where I want to be when I start to lose focus (as we all do!) If you’ve never done this, check out My One Word for inspiration.

As this year comes to a close, and I look back on it, I see so many blessings and a lot of joy with family and friends. We had a fabulous family vacation with my parents and my brother’s family. We got to create some amazing memories with my mother-in-law and Rustin’s brother’s family. My kids are awesome. My marriage is awesome.

I also see a year that felt very limiting for me personally. I went through a surgery that limited me physically and mentally. I made a major transition business-wise that didn’t go the way I thought it would. My car that I loved so much was totaled. I definitely had a really low season where I just wasn’t myself.

BUT in the forced down-time physically I focused on fostering community with women by starting a weekly coffee shop meetup. It’s one of my favorite parts of 2019! I became very intentional with connecting each month with my best girl friend Kayla. We read books together, and had yummy lunches, and great conversation, and it fed my soul.

As my recovery allowed me to start moving again, I found a new yoga class I love and met a now really amazing friend, Barbara, that I love even more. Over coffee one day, this new friend awakened a passion in me that I had been letting sit dormant, and encouraged me to do something BIG with it. As I told my best friend all about it with tears in my eyes, she not only agreed, but wanted to be a partner in what was stirring in my heart.

Y’all. It was definitely not coincidence, but God, reminding me what I am MEANT to do with my life!

Together, Kayla and I poured out hearts into a project for the new year that we are so so excited about. An online community of people who want to remove limiting beliefs and show up every day as their ideal selves.  As we thought through the name of this brand new venture, my one word for 2020 was also born.

LIMITLESS is what I see not just for this new business and the people it touches, or the new year, but for my LIFE this next decade and beyond.

I know who I am. I know who God is. I know who I WANT to be. And I know that through Him I AM LIMITLESS. Philippians 4:13
